Tasting Notes: Bold and sweet on the nose, this is one of our oldest wheated bourbons to date. It's always interesting to watch how the spice and oak develop together given the high high high wheat component in this release. Heavy baking spice, sweet cream, toffee and vanilla roll through the nose. There's no cinnamon here, it's heavy on nutmeg and some light pepper and clove, blending nicely with the sweetness. The palate is rich and viscous, there's a moderate amount of oak, but still leans sweet. Caramel candies, bold maple and brown butter, brown sugar, waffle cone and pleasant oak holds heavy on the palate. The finish is long, there's a touch of cinnamon here, blending nicely with red berries, brown butter, toffee, brown sugar and a delectable belgian waffle note. A perfect lede into fall.
