  • Tasting Notes: A complex beast, this 8 year single barrel shows off just how hard high malt mashbills can go on the court. The nose is full of red berries, cocoa and cream, honey and rich french vanilla. There's a pack of oak, a pile of caramel and a faint dash of cinnamon. The palate is complex and rich, full of flavor and bold on the palate without tearing your head off. At 54%, it trades overproof bruiser status for a balanced, bold bourbon. Caramel candies, cream and sweet oak blend with dry baking spice, a rich vein of pepper and clove, more red fruits from the nose blending with apple butter and a dense, nougat dessert character on the back palate. The finish grows oakier, balancing all of the dessert from the palate into pleasant tannin and rich dessert for days.
