Tasting Notes:

On the nose, bright fruit jumps out immediately with Granny Smith apple and watermelon candy, with a little tangerine too. All the fruit is wrapped in sweet floral rye notes and a buttery sea salt taffy. As it opens, butterscotch, spearmint, vanilla, and a dark grape emerge alongside a surprisingly present oak profile, giving the nose more depth than all that bright candy fruit initially suggests.

Up front on the palate, the mouthfeel is rich and oily as watermelon candies and tart green apple explode, joined by hard butterscotch candy, citrus, and a little peppercorn spice. The apple takes over more through the mid-palate as sweet oak and darker grape build underneath, while a slightly herbal rye spice runs from front to back and keeps all of that fruit and candy sweetness in balance.  The finish is long and almost everlasting, bringing the watermelon, apple, and grape candies together with that deceptive oak. Deep into the finish, the returning sea salt taffy note balances the sweetness before the lingering rye spice takes over on the back of the throat.
