Mash and Journey has been really fortunate this year to get some new
and delicious single barrels. Chattanooga Whiskey Co. has had a huge
impact on the whisky industry with their unique Tennessee High Malt
that's been designed to bring big and bold flavors through unique
mash-bills and malt varieties. After years of not being able to offer
up single barrels, they decided to open the doors and let some groups
pick some of their great barrels.

After tasting a single barrel of their 111 cask, their wheated
mash-bill and their roasted mash-bill, it was the roasted barrel that
won out. Why? It was dense, dark, chocolaty, powerful and delicious.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Whoppers malt balls, Tootsie Rolls, rich baking spices that lead
from warm cinnamon into nutmeg, honey nut cheerios, golden raisins,
dense caramel, a hint of orange zest, funnel cake and little bit of
butterscotch.

Palate: This is like tasting a fresh Tootsie Roll combined with
Whoppers candy. The baking spices ramp up with a touch of cinnamon,
nutmeg and clove. Vanilla butter cream, oak influence, golden raisins
with a hint of black cherry and orange all hit the mid-palate that
finishes with a sweet and decadent finish highlighting chocolate, more
Tootsie Roll and Honey Nut Cheerios.
