- T8KE's Tasting Notes: Rye to me doesn't always generate big fruit notes but this whiskey jumped from the pack and was am oaky, blackberry pie in a glass. Rich fruit and decadent berries hits on the nose with syrupy, dark, reductive nuts loaded throughout. Oak is an understatement with noticeable viscosity here, packed with brown sugar, char, heavy rye spice and a delicious pie crust dessert character.
