Some of the best things in life are the ones you never saw coming. We walked into the distillery with a specific lineup to taste, but this particular bourbon was our"soundcheck" bottle. It wasn’t even part of the official lineup; it was just meant to warm up our palates. One sip later, the original plan went out the window. We knew we couldn't leave without this barrel, so we pulled some strings, made it happen, and now it’s a co-headliner with the Wheat Whiskey in this Old Dom dual release.

A nod to the band, Great White's hit song, "Save Your Love", Old Dominick took a 6-year Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey and let it further develop by resting French Oak Staves aptly named the "Mocha Staves" for an additional 2 months. The result is a rock star of a whiskey from their highly sought-after Stave Finished Single Barrel Program!

• The Nose: Right off the bat, you are hit with a heavy dose of espresso and dark cocoa powder. It’s rich, evolving, and immediately inviting, foreshadowing the pour.
• The Palate: This is where the magic happens. Rich butterscotch pudding gives way to raspberries dipped in bitter dark chocolate. That fruitiness plays perfectly against a backdrop of subtle sweet oak, creating a beautiful tug-of-war between sweet and savory.
• The Finish: It hangs around like a classic power ballad. Long, smooth, and inviting you back for a second sip.

This isn't your standard stave finish. The French oak influence adds a layer of complexity that perfectly balances this whiskey. Far more complex than one might anticipate, this pour is incredibly complex and elegant, aided by a perfect proof point.
