This Sagamore pick from Bourbon of The Week and Gentlemen & Whiskey is exactly what you would expect from a 9 year aged rye. A story of soft vanilla and tart fruit from front to back with a thick consistency, it’s truly an experience.
On the nose notes of warm vanilla and brown sugar lend themselves to the “Sugar Cookie Surprise” vibe for which this pick is named. Behind that is plum, citrus, honey suckle, and dry dusty oak.
On the palate it’s a sweet vanilla latte with more citrus, plums, and honey with sweet oak. The consistency is thick and creamy, coating your mouth.
The finish is a lingering wash of plum, citrus, and cinnamon honey sticks.
